Almond chai tea

The combination of ginger, spices and rich nutty milk creates and warming and soothing drink on a cold day but also refreshing served cold for the summer months. Much healthier than pre made chai tea.

Ingredients

1 tsp fresh grated ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground clove
2 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp raw honey, Manuka honey or agave nectar
500ml almond flavoured Rice Dream
1 Chai tea bag

Method

  1. Mix together the spices, vanilla and honey to form a paste.
  2. Heat the milk in a pan for 2-3 minutes with the tea bag.
  3. Allow to stand for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the tea bag and stir in the spice paste.
  5. Whisk thoroughly.
  6. Pour into glasses to serve.
